General Mills Inc, the maker of Cheerios cereal and Betty Crocker cake mixes, said it would cut 675-725 jobs in its international business under a new restructuring plan aimed at cutting costs and boosting growth. The company, like rivals ConAgra Foods Inc and Campbell Soup Co, has been struggling with sluggish U.S. sales of cereals and frozen foods as consumers shift to foods perceived as healthier.

Education Management Corp. said on Wednesday it had laid off 300 people nationwide, including 70 in the Pittsburgh area, as it struggles with declining enrollment. EDMC spokesman Chris Hardman would not disclose which schools would be affected, but he said the cuts were mostly staff and support positions.

Continental is expected to receive about $1.9 million from the Oklahoma City Development Trust in the next two weeks, bringing the total to more than $5 million since the company relocated to Oklahoma City from Enid in 2012.
