Chevron offers educational refinery tours to community

For Salt Lake resident Shauna Petersen, the Chevron oil refinery has been a community fixture for decades, but how it operated remained a mystery. So when Petersen's son found out about free tours being offered at the refinery Saturday, she decided it would be a good opportunity to learn more about the shiny plant near the freeway with the plumes of white vapor rising into the sky.

Union attacks Chevron rules

The Electrical Trades Union WA has voiced concern over a workforce management policy it says is restricting Wheatstone workers from accessing facilities in the Onslow town site. Currently all non-work related visits to Onslow in a site vehicle must be approved by a site manager and come with written justification for the visit.

Foundations, Chevron give $530K to build STEAM programs in the region

More than two dozen school districts in southwestern Pennsylvania will share in more than a half million dollars in grants to promote programs that encourage STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Manufacturing. The grants were announced Friday by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit Center for Creativity, and the funding came from the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, the Grable Foundation and, for the first time this year, Chevron Corp. .

Chevron reaches $5 million settlement in fatal Greene County well explosion

Chevron has agreed to pay $5 million to settle a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of a contract worker killed last year when fire engulfed a Marcellus shale natural gas well in Greene County.
