Dana Strong appointed new COO of Virgin Media

(Telecompaper) Liberty Global has announced the appointment of Dana Strong as the new chief operating officer (COO) of Virgin Media with effect from 01 July, following the closing of that acquisition. She will succeed Andrew Barron who has decided to leave the company post closing to pursue new opportunities. Strong is currently managing director of of UPC Ireland, where she will be succeeded in this role by Margnus Ternsjo. She will remain chairman of UPC Ireland. In the role of COO at Virgin, she will report to incoming CEO Tom Mockridge.
