Two Ohio auto dealers have agreed to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that they deceived consumers with advertisements that touted low monthly car lease payments but failed to disclose key terms of the offers. The FTC's administrative complaint alleged that Progressive Chevrolet Company and Progressive Motors Inc., of Masillon, Ohio, failed to properly disclose terms such as the total amount due at signing, whether a security deposit was required, and credit score requirements.
Claiming Fictitious Charges, Arkansas Residents Sue Energy Firms

Residents of Faulkner, Conway and Van Buren counties have filed a class action lawsuit against five energy companies claiming they made fictitious deductions and charges against royalty owners. The Log Cabin Democrat reports that the 88 residents represented in the lawsuit are royalty owners of oil, gas and mineral interests in lands and wells located within the three counties.

A Burrier man, who claimed insurance payouts over a Corvette and a Harley Davidson motorcycle, has appeared in Nowra court charged with publishing false misleading information to obtain financial advantage. A 51-YEAR-OLD Burrier man, who claimed insurance pay outs over a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray that was allegedly washed away in the August floods and for a limited edition Harley Davidson motorcycle allegedly stolen 18-months ago, has appeared in Nowra Local Court.
