NREL's Min Zhang recognized for biofuel breakthroughs.

Of her 80 peer-reviewed papers and 21 U.S. patents in biochemistry and biofuels fields, NREL Senior Scientist Min Zhang works with Zymomonas mobilis – rod-shaped bacterium with bioethanol-producing capabilities. Zhang arrived at NREL in 1992. In honor of her many contributions, Zhang was given the Battelle Memorial Institute Inventor of the Year award as well as the Distinguished Innovator Award at NREL's Innovation and Technology Transfer Awards.
