U.S. activist hedge fund Elliott said on Thursday South Korea's Samsung Group [SAGR.UL] should make a fair offer to Samsung C&T Corp ( Elliott, a Samsung C&T shareholder, said that while it "understands and is supportive" of the need for South Korea's largest conglomerate to restructure in relation to its ongoing succession process, Samsung Group should properly recognize Samsung C&T's value.

On Oct. 29, 2012, Kraft Foods Group Inc.'s board of directors approved a $650 million restructuring, related implementation and spinoff transition program, the company said in a U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission filing. Global snacks business Mondelez International Inc., formerly Kraft Foods Inc., completed the previously announced spinoff of its North American grocery business, Kraft Foods Group Inc., in early October.
