EU clothing imports have declined in volume terms in the third quarter this year, in most product categories, in line with a fall of the euro and a subsequent surge of prices in euro terms, whatever the decline of US$ prices at origins, as reflected by our report. Statistical tables are published with volume, value and unit value changes in euro and US$ terms, covering 4-digit categories of 61 and 62 HS chapters (knit and woven clothing). China's share of the European market has further plunged in third quarter, mostly benefiting Bangladesh whereas Turkey took advantage of a falling lira. Other low-cost origins have struggled to maintain their market shares weakened by the decline of the euro. US imports of man-made fiber apparel have surged in the third quarter this year whereas imports of cotton apparel were slowing down. Trouser imports have rebounded in the first three quarters, including in cotton apparel categories, as reflected by our series of statistical tables offering a comprehensive view of US apparel imports per category of products, with volume, value and unit value changes, compared with previous quarters and years. US imports have more sharply risen in the third quarter in volume terms, with China again resisting, and Vietnam and Bangladesh further emerging. Unit prices have continued slightly declining. Exxon 3rd quarter profit falls by nearly half amid low oil prices

Exxon Mobil Corp. posted its worst third quarter in 12 years due to low oil prices but still earned $4.24 billion, beating Wall Street expectations. Exxon's earnings from exploration and production continued to slide, especially in the United States.
