United States Steel Corp., Pittsburgh, has acquired AK Steel's interest in Double Eagle Steel Coating Co. The 700,000-ton electrolytic-galvanizing line will become part of the larger operational footprint of U.S. Steel's Great Lakes Works.

The company says Hico resident Dwane Walters, 47, was working for Siemens when the accident occurred. Walters was apparently electrocuted doing some testing when he came in contact with a wire.

Canadas National Steel Car to build 700 railcars for Canpotex
