Ala Moana Center owner General Growth Properties Inc. has spent $391.5 million so far on its redevelopment of a former Sears space at Hawaii's largest shopping mall, which will add some 340,000 square feet of new retail space, according to a public filing on Wednesday. Chicago-based General Growth said in its 2014 earnings report that the $573.2 million project is expected to be finished by the fourth quarter of this year.

Corporate Office Properties Trust is closing in on the final stages of the transformation of Arborcrest, its office campus in Blue Bell, Pa. The company began redevelopment of what was the former Unisys Corp. complex in 2008 when it embarked on what will be a $120 million effort to reposition the property once occupied by a single tenant - Unisys - into a series of modern office buildings that would attract top tenants and top rents.

A new joint venture of Austin-based development companies is planning to build The Independent, a 50-plus story condo tour at the corner of Third Street and West Avenue. Constructive Ventures, which plans to redevelop the former Austin Energy Control Center at Third Street and West Avenue, has a new partner - Austin-based Aspen Heights - and formally named the residential condo tower project "The Independent."

Last chance to comment on redevelopment plan for Hoboken's south end at rail yards

Members of the public will have one last chance to provide input before the Hoboken City Council votes on adopting the Hoboken Yards Redevelopment Plan at its regular meeting tonight, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m. The Hoboken Yards plan will allow New Jersey Transit to build 2.3 million square feet of new mixed-use development on land it owns south of Observer Highway and adjacent to the Hoboken train terminal. The plan would allow two office buildings rising 277 feet and a third at 330 feet, but only if the structures achieve LEED Gold certification and display architectural creativity.
