Location ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands Description Payable Accountant in the ESTEC Financial Operations Section in the Financial Operations Division, Finance, Planning and Controlling Department, Directorate of Internal Services. Duties Analysing, validating and approving all Agency payments to suppliers in compliance with ESA rules Carrying out the related financial operations and the related interfacing with ESA stakeholders and suppliers Operating the accounts payable subsystem and its interfaces with the other elements of the financial applications in compliance with the Agencys accounting policies Contributing to the verification of contractspurchase orders and Contract Change Notices CCNs so as to ensure compliance with financial requirements Offsetting of advance payments against the correct progress invoicepayment and vendor clearing Preparation and authorisation of urgent payment lists Contribution to the relevant reporting activities and, as requested, for the preparation of the Agencys Financial Statements Other ad hoc tasks on financial accounting matters as requested by management. Technical competencies Accounting and accounts payable processes Finance module and consolidation in an ERP, preferably SAP Strong analytical and reporting skills Behavioural competencies Communication Problem solving Customer focus Planning organisation Results orientation Additional requirements A minimum of five years experience in the operation of the accounting systems at ESA or comparable establishments. A good knowledge of the Agencys financial and procurement system esap system would be an asset. Education Applicants for this post should have a short tertiary education qualification e.g. short cycle higher education diploma or equivalent professional qualifications in a financial discipline. Accountant pleads guilty to embezzling $130K from Illinois Medical District

A senior accountant at the Illinois Medical District Commission pleaded guilty Monday to stealing nearly $130,000 from the agency over a 15-month period starting in 2014. Cynthia Fernandez-Alonso, 42, of Berwyn pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.
