Possess proven track record of developing mechanical products metallic and composite from concept to fabrication Is knowledgeable about mechanical design, material selection, and fabrication processes for spaceflight hardware Has extensive experience with FEM software packages Has Knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerance GDT Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Be comfortable with change and fastpace environment Proactive attitude, team player Preferred Experience Proficiency in Solidworks, FEmap, NASTRAN or equivalent software packages Design of complex mechanisms Be knowledgeable of space environmental tests Has experience with spacecraft design and integration Has experience with new development project English Resume and Cover letter are required.

This position will lead the structural analysis efforts for ispaces lunar lander development. ispace is a leading microrobotics Japanese company with a subsidiary in the United States and another in Europe. ispaces Hakuto rover won the Google XPRIZE mobility milestone award. ispaces lunar lander is its next step towards prospecting for, mining and utilizing lunar resources to expand human presence in space. The ideal candidate will have experience in loads, dynamic and stress analyses for spacecraft applications, including launch vehicle induced loads and environments. This effort supports all phases of design of structures and mechanisms, from helping the team define system architecture, to design, analysis, and support of small scale manufacturing and testing. Key Responsibilities Participate in product definition, specification and requirements phases Support preliminary design including trade studies, material, component and manufacturing process selection Support detailed design of spacecraft components for thermal and structural performance Perform finite element analysis for optimizing design, especially for the vibration environment Supporting other engineers thermal analysis by providing and simplifying 3D models Supporting electrical engineers with mechanical requirements Support of hardware assembly, integration, testing and qualification efforts Basic Qualifications Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Three or more years experience in aerospace structural analysis Three or more years finite element analysis experience Experience with dynamic analysis for both low and high frequency loads and environments Experience supporting manufacturing processes and test activities Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Preferred Experience Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a related field Analysis and simulation using composite materials Specific finite element analysis experience in transient, nonlinear problems Specific finite element analysis simulating performance in thermal and vibration environments Solidworks, FEMAP, VA One and NASTRAN experience Small spacecraft andor lander development, launch vehicle integration and test support
