Being in the plug-in electric vehicle business has been a wild ride lately with Codas bankruptcy, Fiskers disappearing act, and Tesla having a very different experience including reporting quarterly profit numbers for the first time. So, whats the latest with Wheego? The company isnt releasing sales figures, but it is still around. And it will be bringing out an electric SUV, and like the Wheego LiFe, its being built on vehicle bodies imported from China. Wheego CEO Mike McQuary did say that Wheegos 25 dealers in 15 US states are excited about seeing the new SUV model show up. The company still has big challenges ahead of it electric vehicle sales are tough and theres more competitive models on the market each year. Another challenge being faced by Wheego is the 2013 Smart Electric Drive coming to the US market starting at $25,750 before incentives.
