Lawsuit seeks to block Louisiana district from closing two of its schools

The Morehouse Parish board decided earlier this month to close two elementary campuses because of a significant budget shortfall.

Suggested closings are among 91 potential budget reductions put forth by district administrators.

District also would build 10 new schools and expand 5 others.

District administrators also want the school board to all three applications being considered for new charter campuses.

School board is scheduled to decide on superintendent's recommendations later this week.
