Sahuarita landfill closing, transfer station to replace it

SAHUARITA, AZ - Earlier this month the Pima County Department of Environmental Quality announced that it was closing the Sahuarita Landfill to public use and opening a transfer station to replace the service. According to an earlier release the site, operated by Tucson Recycling and Waste Services will close at the end of December or in early January, the transfer station will open, without an interruption in service.
