Head of Robotics and Vision Business Unit HF

We are looking to fill the position of Head of Robotics and Vision Business Unit the candidate needs to be someone who is willing to evolve rapidly in an innovative company working in the areas of image processing and geography software applications. The Business Unit offers services to clients in the fields of Defense, Space, Automotive and Energy and provides technologies related to manipulation and exploitation of image and video computer vision, sensor modeling, 3D reconstruction, compression, Lidar, drone, automatic language processing. The candidate will lead a team of approximately 30 senior engineers andor PhDs and contribute to the development of hisher BU with the following key actions Leverage the internal RD framework in order to attract clients, manage the knowledge acquired, expand the partner network and lead the development of products and pilot projects. At the commercial level, implement the strategy, develop offers, conduct prospecting actions, ensure negotiations and follow up on contracts Define and manage the budget of the BU, ensure the commercial objectives are met, manage turnover and margins as well as participate in debriefing meetings with the Board. As people manager, support and help team members stay motivated, organize technical discussions with them, determine training plans thus ensuring the alignment of the teams skills with the customers needs. Experience and desired skills You come from an engineering background engineering school or university you have a solid experience of at least 8 years in an industrial field in which You have acquired strong technical knowledge in industrial IT this knowledge is related and can be applied to the activities of the BU. You have held a management position in the industrial sector, with a good knowledge of industrial project processes development, validation, deployment, qualification, commissioning, maintenance, preferably in the military field. You know how to conduct negotiation meetings with clients and partners, lead meetings and interviews, conduct presentations, speak in public. You know how to analyze a call for bids customer expectations, budget, competition, risks etc., and are able to respond adequately define price policy, manage partnerships and logistics as well draw up a financial and administrative proposal. Autonomy, initiative, rigor, ability to synthesize, diplomacy and a good level of English are also required. The position will require a Defense Authorisation Habilitation Defense. JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities Duties Tasks Looking for an individual with multidisciplinary skillset to support a number or large UK and European robotics projects GMV is currently participating in. Candidate will participate in the design and analysis of robotics systems, modelling and testing both hardware and software components. The role will include whole product lifecycle from understanding complex customer requirements and designing new components, validation and verification. The role will include simulator building, tailoring and setup and experience with field testing robotic systems. Participation in field testing and travel may be required as part of the role. Experience with interface definitions and usage of industry standard interfaces such as CAN bus or RS232 are desired. Knowledge of HLA optional. Experience with space robotics is desired.
