By ANDREW WELSH-HUGGINS AP Legal Affairs Writer COLUMBUS, Ohio - The state's former expert witness on lethal injection should have known that a condemned inmate would suffer because of a never used two-drug combo, the family of the inmate says in a lawsuit. The lawsuit, expanded from an earlier filing, alleges that Dr. Mark Dershwitz knew inmate Dennis McGuire would suffer during the January execution but helped create the state's new lethal injection policy anyway.

Lost for half a century, historic photographs of Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara taken by an Agence France-Presse photographer shortly after his execution have come to light in a small Spanish town. The guerilla leader lies in a stretcher with his dead eyes open, his bare chest stained with blood and dirt, in the eight black-and-white photographs taken after he was shot by the Bolivian army in October 1967.

The London Metropolitan Police recently reported that half of all car thefts in the city last year were committed without the traditional tools of the trade. Rather, the thieves used high-tech devices to exploit a vulnerability unique to the newest (and most desirable) car models: their onboard computer systems. The tools to "hack" a car are relatively cheap, and instructions easy to procure online. They allow thieves to disable alarm systems, unlock doors and control the lights, steering, brakes and navigation system.
