Siemens has been awarded an order from Apex Clean Energy to supply, support installation and provide long-term service for 130 wind turbines for the Kay Wind project to be located in Kay County, Oklahoma, approximately two hours north of Oklahoma City. Installation of the wind turbines is scheduled to begin this year, with the start of operations expected for the fourth quarter of 2015.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in federal district court in Portland, argues the program violates the commerce clause of the U.S. Constitution by discriminating against fuel importers and regulating out-of-state businesses.

Marin Clean Energy signs new contract that cuts carbon emissions

Marin Clean Energy has signed a new $20 million contract with Calpine Corp. that will further reduce the carbon emissions produced by the electricity it sells to its customers. Under the 33-month agreement, Marin Clean Energy has the option of buying between 10 megawatts and 15 megawatts of electricity from Houston-based Calpine.

The Sturm und Drang to which utility executives, coal companies and politicians have subjected Virginians as they oppose President Obama's Clean Power Plan to reduce carbon emissions has always been a deliberate distraction from what's really happening. According to them and their confederates at the State Corporation Commission and the state Department of Environmental Quality, the Clean Air Act, which seeks to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by a certain date, is a foolhardy, ill-intended bureaucratic effort to put coal out of business and slap ratepayers with bigger bills.
