Fast food purveyor Burger King Worldwide's plans to acquire Canadian coffee brewer Tim Hortons for $11 billion has raised quite a stink this side of the border, where some U.S. lawgivers are up in arms over the willingness of yet another company to renounce its U.S. citizenship for tax purposes. Miami-based Burger King will move its headquarters to suburban Toronto as part of the transaction, joining the exodus of companies relocating to another Promised Land to avoid U.S. tax rates.
