Waverly Place retail center in Cary sold in surprise deal

The California-based owner of the Waverly Place retail center in Cary has sold the property in a surprise deal valued at $66.2 million. RP Realty Partners of Los Angeles bought Waverly Place in 2008 for $17.3 million when the retail center at the corner of Tryon and Kildaire Farm Road was languishing after having gone through several different ownership groups that proposed new development plans that never panned out.
