It's not often that the FDA gets sued for anything, but a powerful Philadelphia legal firm that handles whistleblower and class action cases throughout the nation, Sheller, P.C., has petitioned the Federal Court to demand the FDA follow through with black box warnings for Johnson & Johnson's drug Risperdal or remove its pediatric approval. The FDA had ignored Sheller's requests to allow the legal firm to release documents held by drug company Johnson & Johnson and its subsidiary Janssen that would prove the necessity of withdrawing the FDA's 2006 approval of Risperdal for pediatric prescriptions or at least demand black box warnings.

An autistic man has been awarded $2.5 million in a lawsuit against the makers of a medicine he used to treat his condition, which also caused him to grow 46DD breasts. According to the lawsuit, Austin Pledger, 20, his family and his doctor were not adequately warned that the drug Risperdal could cause breast enlargement in men, reports Autismdailynewscast.com.

Taking part in the ninth annual Operation Take Back program, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, in conjunction with three local police departments, will host drop-off locations for residents looking to properly dispose of unwanted prescription medicines. On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Stop and Shop Supermarket on Littleton Road in Morris Plains; Randolph Township Municipal Building at 502 Millbrook Road in Randolph; and Mountain Lakes Fire Department at 400 Boulevard in Mountain Lakes will all be drop-off locations.
