Our Space business is looking for an Oracle DBA to join a team of professionals working on a large European Navigation programme. Our DBAs typically work in teams alongside developers, designers and testers against client requirements using industry standards to implement some of Europes most exciting IT projects. The work will include the following activities Develop implement upgrades enhancements to the database architecture in conjunction with Design authorities application development team Assist in the implementationreviewtesting of schema upgrade patch scripts data migration scripts MaintaindevelopFully Test PLSQL packages SQL scripts as required following scheme upgrades or to fulfill Design AuthorityApplication Development TeamTest Team requirements Maintain Physical Data Model in Enterprise Architect Maintain branches etc of Database software held under configuration control using Tortoise SVN Assist in database performance analysis, tuning testing Assist in deployment of Oracle upgrades security patches Maintain the existing database environments, documentation and installation procedures development environment, factory test environment, site environments occasional Develop additional procedures to improve automation of installation multiple instances of database configured at different locations Work with application development team to complete the multisite data replication implementation of multiple distinct instances using Dataguard including switchover, failover and database recovery following failover configuration, development and test Provide technical support to the development test team Provide installation, upgrade technical support to the client which may involve occasional European travel Assist in creating the DB team plan. You must have the following technical skills Experience of maintaining, developing and testing PLSQL packages SQL scripts Previous experience of database performance analysis, tuning testing Previous experience of the deployment of Oracle upgrades and security patches Knowledge of UNIX based scripting languages. This role will then be based full time in Leatherhead, but some travel to other European sites may be required. Starting salaries depend on the current level of expertise and experience. Our roles require Security Clearance to SC Level or a European Eqivalent, so you must have lived and worked in the EU for the past 5 years, and be willing to obtain this level of clearance if you do not already have it.
