XPO Logistics Inc said it would buy trucking and logistics company Con-way Inc for $3 billion, including debt, making it the second largest provider of less-than-truckload services in North America. Con-way's shares jumped 33 percent to $47.20 in after market trading on Wednesday, just shy of XPO's offer of $47.60 per share in cash.

Con-way Stock Rating Upgraded by TheStreet

Several other research analysts also recently weighed in on the stock. Bank of America cut shares of Con-way from a "neutral" rating to an "underperform" rating and decreased their price target for the stock from $46.00 to $42.00 in a research note on Friday, May 29th.

XPO Logistics acquires Con-Way

XPO Logistics , a Greenwich-based supply chain services company, announced Wednesday it will acquire Michigan-based trucking company Con-way and all of its subsidiaries in a $3 billion deal. The transaction makes the company the second largest less-than-truckload provider in North America and the largest LTL provider in Europe, and will expand the company's global reach in transportation and logistics.

XPO Logistics to Acquire Con-Way for $2.72 Billion

XPO Logistics Inc. is buying Con-Way Inc. in a deal that will expand the reach of both of the transportation and logistics companies. The companies announced the deal Wednesday, which is valued at $2.72 billion, or $3 billion including $290 million in debt.
