Bill Fuller first planted grapes at Tualatin Vineyards just outside Forest Grove in the 1970s. Vines that usually produce between two and three tons of grapes per acre could yield an extra ton per acre, one of the biggest harvests Fuller has ever seen.

Treasury sells US vineyard at $7.5m loss

Treasury Wine Estates has sold its Asti Winery, Souverain brand and vineyard assets in California to E.& J. Gallo Winery at a loss, as it continues to restructure its business. While the sale price was not disclosed, the Australian-based winemaker said it would book a pre-tax loss on the transaction of about US$7.5 million.

Treasury Wine sells California vineyard

Treasury Wine Estates is selling its Asti Winery in California to E&J Gallo Winery as part of its efforts to cut costs. The company on Tuesday said it would make a $US7.5 million loss on the transaction, which will be recognised in its 2014/15 full year results, but didn't give a value for the deal.
