The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating an undetermined death in the 5000 block of Spring Grove Avenue off West 45th Street and Moncrief Road. The body of an unidentified male was found Thursday afternoon next to railroad tracks near the 5000 block of Spring Grove Avenue off West 45th Street and Moncrief Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Bicyclists warned about crossing tracks near Schenley Park

A local advocacy organization is warning bicyclists about a crackdown by police at a popular shortcut across railroad tracks into Schenley Park in Oakland. Bicyclists have used the shortcut to go from the Junction Hollow Trail across tracks owned by CSX Corp. to reach Panther Hollow Lake and trails on the other side of the rail line.

Along with the opening this weekend of the new Orange MAX Line and the Tilikum Crossing, TriMet opened a new Lafayette Street pedestrian bridge Union Pacific Railroad tracks in the Brooklyn neighborhood. It runs from approximately 18th to 20th avenues and connects Lafayette Street, east of the tracks, with Rhine Street west of the tracks.

At approximately 1:24 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, Lacy Lakeview Police Department dispatchers received a call from Union Pacific Railroad employees. Railroad employees reported they observed what appeared to be a dismembered body along the railroad tracks.
