ANSI invites participation in March 16, 2016 webinar (1 pm EST) to discuss participation in 2 new ISO projects related to Next Generation Toilets. First addresses process of organizing potential U.S. stakeholders for both International Workshop Agreement (IWA) as well as U.S. TAG to support U.S. national consensus-based participation in proposed ISO Project Committee if approved. Additionally, ANSI submitted New Work Item Proposal (NWIP), "Sustainable non-sewered sanitation systems," to ISO.

ANSI Seeks Comments regarding ISO activity on Next-Gen toilets.

Together with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), ANSI plans to submit 2 proposals to ISO on sustainable non-sewered sanitation systems (next-generation toilets) as practical solution for sanitation-related death and disease in developing nations. Plans include developing international workshop agreement (IWA), which would serve as basis for international standard developed through ISO project committee. ANSI invites interested stakeholders to submit comments by October 16, 2015.

Beards may contain more poo particles than toilets

Some men sport beards that are riddled with poo particles and may be dirtier than a toilet, according to a new study. In the study, microbiologist John Golobic, of Quest Diagnostics in New Mexico, swabbed a number of beards searching for bacteria.
