FTSE 100 steady as rate rise worries ease

The UK market is flat in early trading as the latest comments from a Federal Reserve member calm fears of an early US rate rise.

The UK market opens sharply lower, echoing a slide in Asian stocks, as fears grow that the Federal Reserve could raise US interest rates next week.
