BBC: China's media has urged the government to be more open about pollution levels after many northern cities registered dangerous levels of pollution in recent days. In the capital Beijing at the weekend, air pollution soared past levels considered hazardous by the World Health Organisation. The smog - attributed to coal-fired power plants and factories in provinces surrounding Beijing - is expected to shift when winds pick up later this week. Celia Hatton reports.
