Cyber Security Tools Engineer

Position Reference 017 You will have the opportunity of working within a truly unique and rewarding mixed team of Military and Civilian Cyber Security specialists. Based at the NATO Communications and Information Agency NCIA Cyber Security Technical Centre located at NATOs Supreme Allied Headquarters SHAPE in Mons Belgium you will be directly involved day to day in maintaining the integrity of NATOs global Cyber Security Defence posture. The NATO Computer Incident Response Centre NCIRC is one of the largest fully integrated global Cyber Defence capabilities in the world. This capability requires a combined international team of 250 NATO and Industry analysts and engineers, to operate and maintain the wide range of Cyber Security services and the complex infrastructure on which they run, installed at over 100 sites in all 29 NATO member countries. You will have strong all round technical abilities with a good working knowledge of Cyber Security technologies. Specialisation in working with SIEM, NIPS or FPC products and the knowledge to apply cyber security techniques to support and maintain these products within the deployment of a complex cyber implementation will be required. Candidates with experience of other security technologies such as Malware Analysis, Digital Forensics and Vulnerability Assessment are also of interest. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Work within a Leonardo NATO matrix managed Cyber Security Operations and Maintenance team, providing Subject Matter Expertise SME to support the continual availability and improvement of NATOs global Cyber Defence systems Work in conjunction with other cyber security specialists and engineers to support, maintain, troubleshoot and tune the suite of NCIRC security devices Deep configuration and administration of one or more security technologies such as log collection, event correlation, network discovery, network traffic patternflow analysis, mail content checking, intrusion detection and online computer forensics Support investigations into security related incidents Maintain keen understanding of evolving Internet threats and the security techniques and procedures required to protect the NATO networks Willing and able to share information and mentor others in area of specialism. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You are able to work to management direction, independently andor as an active participating member of a multinational and multiskilled team You are able to selfmanage routine e.g. Daily, Weekly or Monthly tasks completing then reliably to the required format, standards and schedule You are able to proportionately plan and effectively communicate approach, risks andor impacts of tasks as applicable to both Leonardo and NATO stakeholders You are able to apply a logical and methodical approach to problem solving balancing expertise, initiative and collaboration to achieve the most efficient resolution of issues You are able to understand and ensure all work is carried out within mandatory constraints such as Incident, Change and Configuration Management e.g. ITIL framework processes You are able to remain flexible and adaptable to changing operational status and emerging priorities You hold or are able to obtain, National NATO Security Clearance e.g. UK SCNS UK DVCTS You understand the constraints of working in secure environments with protectively marked media You hold a valid passport from a NATO Member country You are eligible and able to undertake business travel throughout Europe You are able to represent Leonardo in an International mixed Civilian and Military environment You are able communicate effectively in English though not necessarily as a first language You have IT security best practice, common attack types and detection prevention methods. You are able to demonstrable experience of analysing and interpreting system, security and application logs in order to diagnose faults and spot abnormal behaviours You have experience in Enterprise Networking Services TCPIP Networks, devices, services e.g. DHCPDNS You have a good understanding and interest in network protocols alongside the ability to troubleshoot network system problems at a low level packet level You have experience of cyber security tools such as Arcsight, Nessus Tenable, SourceFire, Cisco, Palo Alto, RSA Netwitness, NetScout, EDR EPP forensics, McAfee You are competent in the operation and administration of UnixLinux and Windows operating systems You have experience of automation tooling scripting such as Puppet Python Perl How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level? Description of the job A vacancy for a CAD Process, Methods and Tools Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. This will suit a CAD Engineer who is looking to move a slightly different direction from handson designing and into CAD Process, Methods and Tools. The CAD Process, Methods and Tools Engineer contributes to the development and maintenance of CAD process to ensure the mechanical design is of a high quality, is efficiently created, updated and is consistent across the group. The CAD Process, Methods and Tools engineer is to become the Stevenage CAD focal point under the direction of the CAD process team leader. Tasks accountabilities To give guidance and user support to the Stevenage CAD community to improve the quality and consistency of data, efficiency of the CAD processes. Identification of training needs and development of training aids, tools and documentation. Clear and interactive communication with the CAD users on these topics. Definition of CAD Process in support of all Stevenage Mechanical Design Office, 3D design and drawing office activities, principally using CATIA V5 and V6 3Dexperience, in conjunction with related PDM and ERP software and systems 3DCom, Engineering Central, SPRINT, Windchill etc. Identification of CAD softwarehardware problems and resolution from local to transnational level. Contributes to maintaining records of user requests, identification and tracking of problems and difficulties. Mechanical Design office interface with other CAD Process teams across other Airbus sites. This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth. Required skills Experience Proven experience in mechanical design activities using Catia V5 or V6 3Dexperience. Delivering CAD user support is desirable but not necessary. General drawing and design office practice including configuration control and document management. Aerospace or space industry background is desirable. Technical skills Extensive Catia V5 or V6 3Dexperience knowledge including o General workbenches including part design, product design and surface. o FTA and 3D as master principles. o Powercopies and knowledgeware. Solid understanding of 3D as master principles. Experience of other 3D applications and technologies VR, Delmia, ALM etc would be an advantage. Your Tasks The engineer shall support the MTG System engineering team. The engineer will support activities related to Phase CD followed by Phase E of the MTG Programme covering the engineering approach and means for MTG System performance, analysis in support of verification, validation and commissioning activities. In detail, the support will be provided for the following tasks Support the process to elucidate the needs for engineering tools to support offline analysis of the MTG system outputs, through interactions with the scientific, instrument, operations and testing user communities, including analysis of challenging or unclear technical aspects Support the translation of scientific and other needs into tool specification and design information, and the regular refinement and maintenance of the engineering tools baseline, including up keeping of the corresponding Engineering Tool Register ETR Support the planning and scheduling of the engineering tools development and testing activities taking into account the user needs milestones Support the development programming and testing of the engineering tools, including their integration within the targeted offline framework also handling of problem report, improvement requests and deliveries following the relevant MTG processes Support the promotion and induction of the engineering tools into the ETR user community training, handson sessions Contribute to the coordination of the user communities and to the reporting on the engineering toolset status Contribution to the maintenance of the technical budgets Participation in formal reviews and technical meetings. In addition, there will be regular involvement in the following tasks requiring interaction and coordination with the other teams at System and Ground Segment level Review of System, Space Segment and Ground Segment documentation dealing with requirements, concepts, algorithms and technical analyses of relevance for engineering tools, including review of analysis and calibration concepts defined by these groups Review of documentation dealing with technical evolutions of the Client infrastructure MME MultiMission Elements, particularly the offline framework Preparation of system commissioning. Your Profile In addition to having a University degree or equivalent, including experience in the engineering, physics or software or similar domains the key person shall have the following mandatory attributes, skills and experience Relevant experience in preparation of specification, design, interfaces and testing documentation for data analysis systems experience of Earth Observation missions is desirable but is not mandatory considering the systems engineering aspects of data analysis management and tools provision Relevant experience in implementation of analysis software script against specification design baselines. Integration, Verification Validation, including testing and formal acceptance The ability to maintain a system overview is essential. This ability shall be exercised within a multidisciplinary context in cooperation with other teams, e.g. covering several different data processing levels and instruments Ability to learn and develop the needed skills and knowledge to contribute to the development of MTG. This includes the ability to rapidly absorb, and make use of, information presented in written and oral communications in a dynamic context Systematic approach to work, including the ability to plan the work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks Ability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Desirable Skills and Experience Previous experience and knowledge in any of the following areas will be considered an additional asset Knowledge of programming languages or tools for data anaylsis e.g. Python, MatLab Relevant experience with data analysis for Earth Observation missions Level 0 raw data, Level 1 geolocated instrument science data or Level 2 physical information, either related to specification and development or to operations and maintenance Experience with generation and use of well formatted files e.g. netCDF format, binary format Knowledge of task relevant ECSS and CCSDS standards. The working language for this position is English and therefore the person must be able to work effectively in this language.
