Wall Street ended the session and the week firmly in negative territory as investors reacted to a weak batch of corporate results and a spate of weaker data both at home and abroad. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the day lower by 0.92% to 17,568.53, while the S&P 500 retreated 1.07% to finish at 2,079.65 and the Nasdaq Composite lost 1.12%, closing at 5,088.63.

Commodities shipper Trans Coastal Supply Company Inc filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Thursday citing more than $28 million in unsecured debt, according to a court filing. Its trade debt included over $12.1 million to CHS Inc , the largest U.S. farmer-owned cooperative, and $3 million to grain handler and ethanol maker The Andersons Inc , according to the filing seen by Reuters.

Canadian Pacific Lowers 2015 Outlook After Commodities Cargo Declines

Canadian Pacific Railway cut its forecast for full-year revenue and earnings per-share growth while it seeks to control costs amid a decline in demand for commodities shipments. Revenue growth is expected to be 2% to 3% in 2015, down from a January forecast of 7% to 8% growth, Canadian Pacific announced in a statement.
