Google to Dim Flash Player in Chrome Browser

Google last week announced that it would minimize use of Adobe's Flash Player in its Chrome Web browser by the end of the year by turning off its default status. When Chrome encounters a Web page, it will report the presence of Flash Player only if a user has indicated that the domain should execute Flash or if the site is in one of the top 10 domains using Flash, Google's Anthony LaForge said.

Lighting manufacturer Cree 's reduced sales guidance for its fical third quarter is causing many on Wall Street to sell their shares. The Durham, N.C.-based manufacturer of light-emitting-diode devices told analysts in a postmarket call Tuesday that its quarterly sales will clock in at $367 million, down from previous estimates of $400 million.

Shares in Ralph Lauren fell more than 22 percent to a multiyear low Thursday after the company cut its outlook for 2016 and reported disappointing earnings it blamed on unseasonably warm holiday weather and a drop in foreign tourist traffic in North America. The New York-based upscale clothing company reported net income of $131 million, or $1.54 per share, for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 26, down 39 percent from $215 million, or $2.41 per share, for the same period a year earlier.
