The Golden Valley-based food giant said Friday it closed the frozen dough manufacturing facility in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, that it has operated since 2006. General Mills said it will offer severance to the the plant's 78 laid-off employees.

A large, vacant manufacturing plant in Los Lunas has been sold to a group of investors led by Albuquerque-based Rio Real Estate Investment Opportunities, according to a report in the Albuquerque Journal . The old Merillat cabinet-making plant, built in 2005 by Taylor, Mich.-based Masco Corp. and shuttered in 2011, covers 360,187 square feet.

Duke Energy has asked Florida regulators to allow it to issue $1.3 billion worth of a new type of securitized bond designed to reduce charges to customers for the costs of shutting down the damaged Crystal River nuclear plant . Duke projects using the securitized bonds approved by the Florida Legislature this year to help address the Crystal River costs will save customers in the state about $790 million over the next 20 years.
