Three people were sent to an Amarillo hospital after two separate motorcycle crashes Sunday afternoon near Interstate 40 and the Hope Road exit, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers said. About 2:30 p.m., the driver of a westbound black Yamaha motorcycle was exiting I-40 and was about to merge onto the frontage road when the driver saw a vehicle on the westbound frontage road.

Trans fats may hurt memory, too

Artificial trans fats in processed foods, which were all but banned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration this week, may interfere with memory, according to a new study. It's not clear if trans-unsaturated fatty acids, or trans fats, might interfere with memory by directly affecting the nervous system, or by contributing to overall cardiovascular disease, which harms the brain as well, researchers say.
