Overview The Post Launch Support PLS function is established for each of the ESAsupported Sentinel missions Sentinel1, 2, 3 5p to provide necessary engineering support for monitoring, maintaining optimising the satellites performance throughout their lifetimes, until conclusion of each mission. The PLS function includes support both from within and from outside of ESA, notably including the Industrial consortia that were also involved in the development of each satellite and its main subsystems. The PLS function is led by a PLS Manager responsible for ensuring all aspects of the PLS function. The PLS Manager is supported by a small team of engineers located at ESAESTEC who perform the daytoday PLS engineering support tasks for each mission.
