The test execution activities as part of the support service include scheduling of all test cases, in line with the overall System and GS IVV schedules ensuring sufficiently in advance of test execution that relevant test procedures, tools and data are ready to be used, performing any final tuning or setup as necessary organising and holding, under the direction of EUMETSAT, Test Readiness Reviews TRR, in which the readiness of all required elements to perform a specific set of tests those elements provided as part of the IVV support service, those part of the GS and System configuration, and the required engineering resources will be checked, any constraint dealt with and the final arrangements for the execution of the tests taken performing the tests according to the test procedures and the arrangements taken in the TRR, undertaking any required analysis of the results and recording the outcome in relevant test reports, and anomaly reports if necessary organising and holding, under the direction of EUMETSAT, Test Review Board TRB meetings to present the test results, the anomalies identified, and the proposed verification status of the requirements tested supporting Anomaly Review Board ARB meetings liaising with facility procurement teams and development contractors for technical issues related to the utilisation of the facilities, the communication of anomalies, the followup of their resolution and installation of patches or new releases.

Support is sought for the ongoing scientific and product development activities in preparation for the future UVNS mission to be flown on the EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation. You will be part of the Remote Sensing and Products RSP Division of the Technical and Scientific Support TSS Department and will provide support as a member of the Atmospheric Composition AC Team. Your responsibilities will primarily cover the support for the generation of Level 2 data processing, product format, and auxiliary data specifications for the UVNS mission. In addition you will support the review of calibration algorithms and contribute to development activities related to Level 1 data processing software. A solid background in software engineering. Minimum of 5 years experience in the field of remote sensing product retrievals, data processing, and analysis. Familiar with Level 2 retrieval algorithms, data processing, and satellite instrument characteristics in the UV to SWIR part of the spectrum. Experience in atmospheric remote sensing in the optical spectrum Ultraviolet to Shortwave Infrared Familiarity with Earth observation systems in operational meteorology, atmospheric Handling and processing of remote sensing data Experience with instrument calibration and characterisation Familiarity with radiative transfer Ability to write concise and comprehensive scientific and technical reports. Good skills in a higher programming language e.g. Fortran, C. Experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision and have good interpersonal skills.
