We are looking to further enhance our team by adding a UVN Product Development Support Consultant You will be based initially for 2 years at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Your Tasks Include Inhouse consultancy support is sought for the ongoing processor development activities in preparation for the future UVN instrument to be flown on MTGS. The key person will provide support within the Atmospheric Composition Team in the Remote Sensing and Products RSP Division, located in Darmstadt, Germany. Heshe will be fully integrated in the Atmospheric Composition Team and will interface with inhouse experts of various disciplines system, instruments, operations, science, and in particular members of the MTG Science and Instrument Teams. The tasks of the key person will include Provision of support to the development of algorithms for calibration of UVN level 0 data Provision of support to the development of an Instrument Data Simulator Taking into account the constraints imposed by the final goal of implementation of the products within an operational processing system Provision of support to the development of prototype software code for the purposes of testing and validation the algorithms developed Provision of support to the development of an instrument performance model based on specifications to be provided by industry Provision of support to the development of software for crosscalibration and validation activities Generation of test data required for the verification of the algorithm and products Provision of support to the generation of associated documentation including test data descriptions, Product Specification PS, technical reports etc Interfacing with Client experts as needed Collaboration with expert groups and the wider scientific community as appropriate Assessment of results from scientific studies Provision of support to operational level 2 processor development activities, for future level 2 product development for the UVN instrument. The tasks will evolve as the MTGUVN specifications mature and activities evolve in the coming years. Your Profile The UVN Level 1 product development consultant shall have the experience and capability to fulfill the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision and have good interpersonal skills. Heshe shall be familiar with satellite instrument characteristics for Earth observation, in particular calibration and validation of moderate spectral resolution data in the UVVisibleNIR part of the spectrum. Heshe shall have the ability to write concise and comprehensive scientific and technical reports. In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the consultant shall have a minimum of 5 years experience in the field of remote sensing product data processing and analysis including at least 2 years of experience of UVVisibleNIR calibration and validation. Further the consultant shall have a solid background in software engineering. Specifically the consultant shall fulfill at least a significant subset of the following criteria Very good skills in a higher programming language e.g. Fortran, C Working with UNIX andor Linux operating systems Specification, design and coding of complex product processors Testing and verification of complex data processing systems Handling and processing of remote sensing data Experience in atmospheric remote sensing in the optical spectrum Ultraviolet to Near Infrared Experience with instrument calibration and characterization Familiarity with Earth observation systems in operational meteorology, atmospheric composition and climate monitoring both remote sensing and in situ systems Writing concise and comprehensive scientific and technical reports. Job description For our customer, EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking an experienced LEO Spacecraft Operations Engineer Consultant. You shall work in the Operations and Services to Users Department as a member of the Metop Spacecraft Operations Team, where depending on the level of experience, skills and overall team needs, responsibility will be taken for the operations of inorbit subsystems andor instruments, as well as for the operations preparation and operational conduct of inorbit verification for those subsystems and instruments on the MetopC satellite. Furthermore, this may also include support to the onboard software management, simulator configuration, automation of routine analysis or other activities included within the scope of activities of the Metop Spacecraft Operations Team. The right person will establish effective working interfaces with the satellite operations activities of other operations engineers and analysts, and external teams responsible for mission control, mission planning, flight dynamics and ground stations. Furthermore, you shall support system and operations preparation activities for Metop Second Generation satellites and possibly also for JasonCS Sentinel6. One of our clients based is Germany is looking for a Data Processing Systems Engineering Support Consultant. The candidate will provide engineering support to the MTG Ground Segment Data processing team in the frame of the MTG Programme. The Consultant will support activities related to Phases C and D of the MTG Programme in the area of data processing engineering. Tasks In detail, support will be provided for the following tasks Support the procurement of data processing elements by advising on technical solutions proposed by the contractor and by reviewing documentation to confirm its compliance with the requirements. Support management of the requirements baseline for data processing elements. Support refinement of ICD and HumanMachine Interface HMI requirements and specifications. Support testing, integration and acceptance of data processing elements, including HMIs. Participation in formal reviews and technical meetings. The ability to maintain a system overview is essential. This ability must be exercised within a multidisciplinary context in cooperation with other teams, covering several different data processing levels and instruments. Ability to learn and develop the needed skills and knowledge to contribute to the development of MTG. This includes the ability to rapidly absorb, and make use of, information presented in written and oral communications in a dynamic context. Systematic approach to work, be able to plan the work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. Ability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Skills Knowledge Knowledge in any of the following areas will be considered an additional asset Knowledge of the IBM DOORS tool or an equivalent for requirements management. Knowledge of task relevant ECSS and CCSDS standards. Knowledge of HMI usability inspection methods. Relevant experience with L1L2 processing software for Earth Observation missions, either for operationsmaintenance or specification and development.
