Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Thermal Control Section at ESTEC, you will have the following responsibilities Provide support to the Agency in the field of thermal engineering design, analysis and verification specifically related to thermal control activities Provide support to ESA projects, including CDF activities, interfacing with the project teams, interfacing with the industrial teams, participating in progress meetings and reviews, and providing appropriate feedback on the achieved progress and discussions Support the thermal control activities project support and RD activities of the Section in your area of specialization Build geometrical and thermal models, perform relevant analyses, evaluate critically the results and issue relevant documentation covering all work performed Support the maintenance and upgrading of thermal mathematical models Support thermal verification test campaigns for ongoing ESA projects by performingreviewing test procedures, test predictions and test correlations and attend the tests if required Support ESA project reviews Support European standardization activities Make regular progress reports Provide adequate documentation, covering all the tasks above. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Masters degree in a relevant engineering discipline Very good background and experience in thermal modelling and analysis as well as thermal spacecraft design and verification Good background and knowledge of spacecraft system aspects and experience with the Agencys thermal analysis tools, e.g. ESATANTMS Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Specific Tasks Support projects and external customers in the domain of thermal and mechanical experimental verification and environmental testing of small scale space equipment in facilities of the Mechanical Systems Laboratory MSL. Heshe will be involved in all activities related to preparation, execution, and evaluation and reporting under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Manager. Support the development and the maintenance of the laboratory infrastructure and equipment. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 for operational work and support the definition and maintenance of working maintenance procedures for the laboratory facilities. Make regular progress reports. Provide adequate documentation, covering all tasks above. Requirements A Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering or similar technology related discipline. Strong background in environmental testing and thermal verification by test. Proven experience in the area of testing with evidence of work in a laboratory and within a team of engineers and technicians. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and 17025 quality systems is an asset. Specific knowledge and experience in vibration testing is an asset. Proven experience in the area of laboratory maintenance calibration data acquisition
