A Bay Area man who allegedly assaulted a woman seated in front of him on a Southwest Airlines flight from Los Angeles to San Francisco was arrested Wednesday by FBI agents in Los Angeles. Lawrence Wells, 54, of Richmond, made his initial appearance in federal court in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday, but was not asked to enter a plea.

Quebec's securities regulator has launched criminal proceedings against a former executive assistant to a top BCE Inc. executive, alleging she illegally tipped family and friends in an insider trading scheme that netted them more than $1 million in profits.
