Less than two years after launch, Boston-based maple water brand DRINKmaple is available in 2,000+ stores including Ahold , Wegmans, H-E-B, and Whole Foods Market, and is establishing an international footprint in the UK and Australia. "Since launching the business less than two years ago, we have experienced overwhelming reception to the brand and loyalty to our product," said co-founder and CEO Kate Weiler in a distribution update this week.

Food recall expands to Nob Hill, Raley's stores

Raley's has announced the recall of several products containing celery and onions at its Bay Area and Northern California groceries, including Nob Hill, Raley's and Bel Air stores. The recall coincides with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's announcement of a recall of celery products by Taylor Farms Inc. of Tracy because they may contain E. coli 0157:H7.

Thanksgiving shopping at stores 'was a bust'

Traffic at stores declined on Thanksgiving Day and into the wee hours of Black Friday analysts say, though executives at major retailers were pleased with the turnout. "We believe Thanksgiving shopping was a bust," said analysts at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey in a note.
