Swiss investor Palmarium acquires MVNO Lebara

(Telecompaper) Palmarium, through its subsidiary Vieo, has acquired European MVNO Lebara Group. The founders of Lebara will leave the company. The new leadership team will be led by Graeme Oxby as CEO. Oxby was most recently MD of Liberty Global's European mobile business and previously worked at Virgin Media.

TDC buys MVNO Plenti with 90,000 users on 3 Denmark network

(Telecompaper) Danish operator TDC said it has acquired Danish MVNO Plenti for DKK 74 million. Plenti currently runs on rival 3 Denmark's network, and TDC will negotiate the transfer of Plenti's 90,000 or so customers to TDC's own mobile grid.

MyRepublic to launch MVNO in Singapore in October

(Telecompaper) Singapore internet start-up MyRepublic plans to launch mobile services on the local market in October this year. To provide its mobile service, MyRepublic will buy airtime in bulk from Singtel, StarHub or M1, instead of building its own mobile network, The Straits Times reports. MyRepublic received its MVNO licence in June.

Vodafone acquires MVNO Lebara's Australian business

(Telecompaper) Vodafone Australia is purchasing mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Lebara's Australian mobile business assets, with the telecommunications provider to take ownership of its customer base and branding within Australia. As Lebara has been a Vodafone-connected MVNO since 2009, and connected to the Vodafone 4G network in June, Vodafone chief strategy officer Dan Lloyd expects the transition to be "seamless".

Axel Springer launches new MVNO BILDconnect

(Telecompaper) German publishing house Axel Springer has launched a new MVNO in cooperation with Drillisch. The new BILDconnect portfolio consists of three tariffs that are available on a monthly rolling contract or as 2-year contracts. The plans will be delivered on the Telefonica (O2) network and offer LTE.
