Beyond Keystone: Why Climate Movement Keep Heat On

Yale Environment 360: The key passage -- the forward-looking passage -- of President Obamas speech last week rejecting the Keystone XL pipeline came right at the end, after he rehashed all the arguments about jobs and gas prices that had been litigated endlessly over the last few years. Ultimately, he said, if were going to prevent large parts of this Earth from becoming not only inhospitable but uninhabitable in our lifetimes, were going to have keep some fossil fuels in the ground rather than burn them and...

TransCanada says to keep pushing Keystone; investors skeptical
2015-11-10 07:12:40| Energy - Topix.net
TransCanada Corp said on Friday it will keep pressing to build the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada to the United States despite the Obama administration's rejection, but skeptical investors suggested it focus on a controversial all-Canadian alternative. TransCanada is also developing the Energy East pipeline, designed to move 1.1 million barrels per day of western crude to Canada's East Coast, although it too faces opposition from environmentalists trying to halt industry expansion.
