By 74-21 vote, Senate passed Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (S 754). If enacted into law, legislation would let businesses voluntarily and securely share information about cybersecurity attacks with federal agencies without jeopardizing customers' personal information. In response, NEMA's Kevin J. Cosgriff applauded this "important first step" taken by Congress but noted that "there is more work to be done to protect against cyber- and physical-threats" and offered support.

SYNTEL, the global IT giant, has opened its first office in Scotland after clinching a major contract with Clydesdale Bank. The NASDAQ-listed company, which provides outsourcing solutions for the financial services sector, has taken a 10-year lease on a 4,239 square foot space at the recently-refurbished 145 St Vincent Street in Glasgow.
