Ajilon Technology Aerospace is looking for an RF Payloads Microwave Mm waves Technology Equipment Engineer E3 for an opportunity at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands General tasks to be performed Participation to the definition, specification, design, procurement and verification of the Navigation Payload System activities Participation to the segment and intersegment Project activities, and reviews covering the Navigation Payload System area Participation to Acceptance Reviews Contribution to the Industrial monitoring of Navigation Payload activities in critical areas Contribution to the Payload System Design Engineering activities in the area of Interface Engineering, Performance Assessments and Simulations, including support to InOrbit Testing to validate performances Acting as the Payload focal coordinator for the Time Keeping SubSystem engineering activities, including liaising with other Project segments. Contribution to the early identification of problem areas and participate in their resolution in NonConformance, Anomaly and Engineering Boards Regular reporting to the Payload Manager. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required Electrical engineering and preferable a background in the Radio Navigation domain Substantial experience in phase ABCD projects Good background in Design, Simulation, Manufacturing and Testing of Payloads and Payload Equipment with emphasis on Payload System and Interfaces Engineering A background and interest in multiple domains such as RF and atomic clocks is an asset. Candidates must be eligible for security clearance by their national security administration The European Space Agency ESA has sites in several European countries. The European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC is the largest site and the technical heart of ESA. This nursery of European space activities is located in Noordwijk, Netherlands. At ESTEC, about 2500 engineers, technicians and scientists work handson with mission design, spacecraft and space technology. Almost all ESA projects except launchers are managed from ESTEC. In Noordwijk, people work on science missions, manned space missions, Earth observation, telecommunications and navigation satellites. ESTEC provides extensive testing facilities to verify the proper operation of spacecraft, such as the Large Space Simulator LSS, acoustic and electromagnetic testing bays, multiaxis vibration tables and the ESA Propulsion Laboratory EPL. The Challenge We seek a qualified engineer to be part of the flight control team providing spacecraft operations engineering services for the Galileo constellation of navigation spacecraft. This is a fulltime position collocated at or near the premises of our customer in Oberpfaffenhofen, near Munich. The work starts as soon as possible. The tasks to be performed are those typical for a spacecraft operations engineer, but with a focus on data handling operations. Typical spacecraft operations engineering tasks include requirement definition, preparing and validating flight control procedures, validating ground systems used for operations, participating in spacecraft interface tests, and spacecraft performance analysis. Specific areas of responsibility and support related to this position are Generationconfiguration of flight operation procedures Definition of validation scenarios Flight operation procedure test and validation Preparations for participation in system validation tests and simulation campaigns Test and validation of operational items, e.g. the Galileo constellation simulator, airborne software, satellite constellation control facility, operational databases and the manufacturing and operations Information System MOIS Participation and provision of training in spacecraft subsystems, operational tools and operational concepts management of operational anomaly reports support for routine, special and contingency operations during PF commissioning, in orbit test and routine operations provision of oncall and shift operational services offline analysis of subsystem performance tuning of the operational databases, e.g. define, configure and adjust telemetry parameter operational limits participatelead implementation of special operations, with focus on the attitude and orbit control Your Qualifications This position requires a person with University degree or similar in engineering, physics or related subject.
