EPA Finalizes Revisions to Clean Air Standards for Stationary Engines

In compliance with settlement agreements, EPA finalized revisions to standards to reduce air pollution from stationary engines that generate electricity and power equipment. U.S. Announces Clean Air Act Settlement with Wisconsin Utility

According to settlement announced by U.S. EPA and U.S. Department of Justice, Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) will invest ~$300 million in pollution control technology, pay $1.2 million civil penalty, and spend $6 million on environmental mitigation projects to resolve Clean Air Act (CAA) violations. Settlement requires 2 power plants – Pulliam plant in Green Bay, WI and Weston plant in Rothschild, WI – to comply with emission rates and annual tonnage limitations.
