Hostess owners downplay IPO, sale "at this time"

The owners of Hostess Brands LLC, Metropoulos & Co and Apollo Global Management, have insisted that they are not considering selling or listing the business "at this time". Reports yesterday suggested that the private equity firms were considering an initial public offering of the Twinkies maker having rejected bids for the business in the region of US$2-2.5bn.

Snack cake maker Hostess Brands LLC is expanding into the bread and bun market under the Hostess brand, according to a report by Baking Business . Kansas City, Mo.-based Hostess Brands owns the Twinkies, CupCakes, Ding Dongs, Ho Hos, Zingers, Suzy Q's, Sno Balls, Donettes, Fruit Pie and other snack-cake brands.

Post Foods, Grupo Bimbo , Flowers Foods and Aryzta are reportedly among the suitors that have made non-binding bids to acquire Twinkies owner Hostess Brands LLC from owners Apollo Global Management and C. Dean Metropoulos & Co. According to The New York Post , citing a source "close to the situation" the four firms placed their bids by Wednesday .
