AEP Industries Inc., a maker of packing for consumer, industrial and agricultural businesses, reported losses in fiscal 2014 of $5.5 million, or $1.03 a share, compared with net income of $10.7 million, or $1.92, from the same period of a year ago. The company said fiscal 2013 results included a gain on purchase of the Transco business of $1 million.

AEP Industries third-quarter income falls

AEP Industries Inc., which makes packaging products for the consumer, industrial and agricultural markets, said fiscal third-quarter net income slid 33 percent to $1.2 million, or 24 cents a share, from $1.8 million, or 32 cents. Net sales for the period ended July 31, rose 6 percent to $308.8 million, boosted by a 5 percent increase in average selling prices.
