US Q4 in brief: American Eagle Outfitters, Weyco, Abercrombie & Fitch, Ross Stores

In the most recent fourth-quarter filings from US apparel brands and retailers, L Brands, Skechers and Columbia Sportswear published record sales growth and higher earnings, while American Eagle Outfitters and Weyco Group saw net income increase. Kate Spade & Co posted a mixed performance, while Ross Stores posted better-than-expected results. Kohl's said it will close 18 stores after reporting a 20% decline in profit, and both Crocs and JC Penney saw their losses widen.

CHENNAI/NEW YORK/MUMBAI, January 28 Fitch Ratings has assigned a 'BBB-' rating to Crown Castle International Corp.'s new senior unsecured note offering. Net proceeds, along with cash on hand, will be used to repay a portion of the borrowings under its new credit facilities including the 364-day senior unsecured revolving credit facility .

Fitch Withdraws 'A+' IFS Ratings on Two Merged Subsidiaries of Markel Corporation

CHICAGO, January 25 Fitch Ratings has withdrawn the 'A+' Insurer Financial Strength ratings for Deerfield Insurance Company and Alterra Excess & Surplus Insurance Company. The withdrawal is the result of the companies' mergers with the surviving entities, Markel Insurance Company and Evanston Insurance Company, respectively, which Fitch currently rates 'A+' for IFS.
