Why U.S. oil companies clash with EU peers on global warming
2015-06-07 21:51:31| Oil & Gas - Topix.net
The fight against climate change has opened a trans-Atlantic rift in an industry often seen as a monolith - Big Oil. Unwilling to sit on the sidelines of climate negotiations, Europe's largest oil companies last month issued a joint statement calling for a worldwide price on the greenhouse gas emissions that come from burning their products.

BNSF Slows Oil Trains Ahead of Peers
2015-04-01 17:04:05| Railroads - Topix.net
BNSF Railway Co., the largest hauler of crude by rail, moved ahead of U.S. peers in the push for safety by reducing oil-carrying train speeds beyond an agreement last year between regulators and the railroads. BNSF's oil trains will go 35 miles per hour in areas with at least 100,000 residents, a 30% reduction in speed in some cases, the company said March 30. Union Pacific Corp., the largest U.S. railroad by revenue, said it will study BNSF's actions, while CSX Corp. and Norfolk Southern Corp., the two largest railroads in the eastern U.S., said they aren't taking similar steps.

2015-01-26 19:31:04| Semiconductors - Topix.net
The company is definitely not on sale at $74 per share and a significant drop can occur sooner than later. In my previous article about Cheniere Energy , I presented the company's scary fundamentals along with the industry's moving parts, while encouraging all the existing and potential investors to go against the grain by avoiding or even shorting this stock at the price of $74 per share.

Europe-exposed U.S. construction suppliers to trail domestic peers
2015-01-24 11:41:30| Furniture - Topix.net
U.S. construction materials suppliers that have a sizeable exposure to European housing markets are expected to report slower revenue growth this year than their domestic peers due to cooling housing demand on the continent and a stronger dollar. The uncertainty bodes especially ill for Masonite International Corp, Armstrong World Industries Inc , Mohawk Industries Inc and Masco Corp, which get nearly a fifth of their revenues from Europe.
