MeadWestvaco's specialty chemicals division is partnering with Sunland Logistics Solutions on a chemical distribution site in Goose Creek that will ship 1 million pounds of product each day both domestically and internationally through the Port of Charleston, the companies announced Thursday. The companies are finishing renovations to a 300,000-square-foot facility at 300 Eagle Road that is scheduled to open next month.

A Charlotte, N.C., real estate firm is developing a $52 million distribution center for FedEx Corp. off River Road in Upper Merion, Pennsylvania. SunCap Property Group has plans to construct a 315,897-square-foot building on 65 acres at the former Keystone Coke Co.

Capstone Turbine Corporation , the world's leading clean technology manufacturer of microturbine energy systems, announced today that it received an order for a C800 microturbine to upgrade a major European distribution center for Italian food retailer, Conad, in Fiano Romano, Italy. The methane-fueled C800 microturbine will be installed in a combined cooling, heat and power application to provide electricity to the facility as well as chilled water to refrigerate the warehouse using an ammonia absorption chiller.
