(Telecompaper) EchoStar Technologies and Vivendi's Brazilian unit GVT have announced they are no longer in discussions to form a joint venture for pay-TV services in Brazil. EchoStar said it remains committed to use satellite and video technology to deliver pay-TV services to Brazil via BSS satellite. Vivendi said it will also continue to develop GVT's pay-TV business.
