Union workers at Exxon Mobil Corp's Beaumont, Texas, refinery agreed to an unusually long six-year contract on Thursday night, which sources say the company pushed to assure no work stoppages during a contemplated multibillion-dollar expansion. Members of United Steelworkers union Local 13-243 voted by secret ballot on the contract offer, which is two years longer than the national agreement reached by the USW and U.S. refinery owners in March.

Va. panel approves $2.5 million coal ash spill pact

A Virginia board approved a $2.5 million settlement with Duke Energy stemming from a massive coal ash spill into the Dan River in North Carolina. Volkswagen in pact with China's SAIC on hybrid car

Volkswagen AG said Wednesday it signed an e-mobility agreement with Chinese joint venture partner SAIC Motor Corp. to produce hybrid and electric vehicles. Volkswagen also said it will manufacture its brand's C-Segment models at the Anting production site in China from 2016.
